One of Alysia’s most cherished experiences at SPCC Cessnock was starting the Captivate Festival of the Arts. This initiative not only showcased the immense talent within the student body but also brought the community together in celebration of creativity and expression. It’s moments like these that highlight the vibrant and supportive environment Alysia has helped cultivate.

A standout memory for Alysia is the Tomorrow Need Summit with Year 9 students. She recalls the event with fondness, remembering the brave, determined faces of the students as they engaged in their research. It was a day filled with promise and potential, exemplifying the spirit of inquiry and ambition that Alysia so passionately encourages.

What keeps Alysia motivated and inspired every day? It’s seeing the students beam with pride in their accomplishments. Whether it’s excelling in academics, arts, or personal growth, their success stories fuel her passion for teaching and mentoring. She is particularly proud of the Art Guild, an initiative that has flourished under her guidance, fostering a sense of community and artistic achievement.

She believes in the power of kindness, a lesson imparted to her through the best piece of advice she ever received: “Always be kind.” This simple yet profound principle shapes her interactions with students and colleagues alike.

At SPCC Cessnock, Alysia is also known for her meticulous reading of reports, a task she approaches with the same enthusiasm and dedication she brings to all her endeavors. Her multifaceted role at the school is a testament to her versatility and commitment to making a positive impact.
